AKA Hanna and Chester

Hanna and Chester were born on April 7, 2006 - two of the litter of 10!  They are quite the pair.  Chester has a laid-back personality like his Dad, Henry.  He is a people lover like his Mom, Gabby.  Hanna is quiet and more timid.  It takes her a little more time when faced with new situations.  She is such a sweet little thing that everyone falls in love with her.

They both have finished Puppy Kindergarten and Puppy Primary.  They both have passed their Obedience classes and have become AKC certified "Canine Good Citizens."  And then they went on to be certified Pet and Pal Therapy dogs. It has been an interesting experience to have them both in class at the same time.  We have a wonderful teacher, Rita Johnston, who makes liver treats. ( Which she sells to make money for the Pets and Pals Therapy Dogs group in Ashland, Wisconsin.)  Chester LOVES the treats and will do anything Rita asks of him as long as he knows the treat is there for him.  He got to be quite a "teachers pet" as he sat directly in front of her,  and looked lovingly into her eyes,  all the time waiting for one of those LIVER TREATS!

Hanna was much more subtle in her approach.  She would slowly move up to Rita and softly take the treats.   She had to work up to the new equipment.  Her favorite thing was the tunnel,  which we thought she would be afraid of.  She sat patiently in the wheelchair when we gave her a ride,  but she was soooooo glad to get out of it when her turn was over.

They have had a great deal of fun with their older brother, Charlie.  Charlie had some surgery done on his eyelid.  He had to wear a clown collar so he wouldn't scratch his stitches.  Then Chester and Hanna decided to help him escape from the collar,  which was getting in their way of fun.  Each one took hold of a side of the collar and while they pulled so did Charlie and he slipped right out of the collar.  All three thought it was a great new toy.  They spend as much time as they can in the backyard,  running and jumping.  Their favorite place to lay is on top of the hot tub cover.  As you can see in the picture above,  Gabby and her pups can be real "couch potatoes"!

Chester and Hanna have moved on to new families and new experiences.  Chester's family has two boys to play with.  They give him tons of attention,  which he adores.  Chester will be the "featured attraction"  at  Julee's summer class entitled "Is Your Summer Going to the Dogs!" He has already visited the school numerous times and he has been quite a hit.

Hanna lives in Virginia with her new family.  She has twins to play with and a new Mom and Dad who love her.  With all the attention she gets she is blossoming.  She is such a sweet little girl ...you just have to love her.
